ART TEACHER

CRAFT INSTRUCTORS

CULTURAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR/ PRESENTOR/LECTURER

Positions:

Now seeking Art Instructors, and Crafting Instructors, and/or Cultural Education Instructors, all disciplines.

ART247 is looking for wonderful Arts & Cultural Instructors and Teachers dedicated to the Arts! From traditional classrooms, to creative studies, help us immerse Greater Western NY youth and adults in the Arts! We love your support in providing our community with great instruction, exhibitions, and programs! We offer great pay levels for all programming.

We are currently seeking successful, enthusiastic ART TEACHERS and/or CRAFT INSTRUCTORS and/or CULTURAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTORS/PRESENTORS/LECTURERS for multiple positions. The ideal candidate/s will be committed to providing outstanding classroom & workshop instruction, be able to create their own classroom curricula, and organizing unique, memorable events that are of the highest quality. S/he/they/them should be passionate about Art/Craft history, techniques, detail oriented, and highly creative. Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates student success by demonstrating the ability to provide appropriate expectations and boundaries that promote and maintain a safe environment conducive to learning.
  • Works in collaboration with the director to support the continuity of ongoing projects/workshops in the classroom and Arts & Cultural Center.
  • Teaches students a particular art discipline in depth as well as has the ability to run a multi-faceted art class
  • Must be willing to set up for class, teach class, and clean-up after class.
  • Supports Director with promotion of class and student retention.
  • Ability to retain current students and make new students feel comfortable quickly.
  • Ability to attend occasional program fundraising events.

Child-age Classes:

  • Exposes children to a diversity of materials and techniques within class medium taught.
  • Teaches students to appreciate art
  • Develops students’ artistic eye
  • Works collaboratively with Director on special programs
  • Document children's' experiences & class progress.

Adult Classes:

  • Immerses Adults in an engaging & fun experience while exposing adults to new/advanced techniques within the class medium that's being taught.
  • Periodically Document Student Experiences and Progress.Special Education Art Instruction:
  • Create specialized art objectives and goals based on the individuated needs of the class students.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Driver’s License/State Issued Photo ID and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a DOJ background check
  • Must have cell phone and computer access-including email, and ability to call/text
  • Participate in a mandatory orientation and training meetings.
  • *For Special Education Art Instructors - Requirements: NYS Teaching Certification in art and/or Special Education is required, Prior Classroom Experience required.
  • *For Child-Age Art Education and/or Workshop Instructors - Requirements: Prior Classroom experience with elementary, middle, and/or junior-high age students.

Preferred:.

  • *For Adult Education and/or Workshops: Prior formal teaching and/or community edu/workshop instructor experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Art, with strong visual arts foundation.

FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR

Positions:

Now seeking Fundraising Coordinator.

We are currently seeking a successful, enthusiastic Fundraising Coordinator to raise funds and gather monetary donations for ART247. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be committed to providing outstanding customer service, and be able to organize lasting and meaningful partnerships with community, vendors, and donors. S/he/they/them should be passionate about hospitality, detail oriented, and highly creative. This role also requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to delegate responsibilities while overseeing the big picture. Fundraising Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Raise funds for our cause and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets and objectives.
  • Research potential donors and sponsors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them.
  • Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organization.
  • Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities.
  • Assist our Event Director in the planning and coordination of sponsorship and donor acquisitions for events meant to raise funds.
  • Assist our Graphic Design Team in creating marketing materials, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes.
  • Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved.
  • Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and sponsors, and manage regular donor communications and follow-ups.
  • Build upon existing donor and sponsor relationships, and form new donor and sponsor relationships on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities to meet goals and objectives.

Fundraising Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven successful experience as a Fundraising Coordinator in Leadership and Managerial roles.
  • Proven successful experience in acquiring revenue acquisitions of $750,000+/yr average.
  • Creative, impressive portfolio of previous Fundraising accomplishments.
  • Outstanding time management and communication skills
  • Solid marketing and sales skills and proven ability to build fruitful business relationships.
  • Exceptional multitasking skills to manage multiple projects independently and consistently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and familiar with all relevant technology.
  • Willingness to submit professional references from previous clients.
  • Willingness to submit to a background check. 
  • BS in Business Management, Communications, or related field (Preferred.)

Experience:

  • Fundraising: 4 years (Preferred.)
  • Communications: 4 years (Preferred.)
  • Grant Writing: 4 years (Preferred.)
  • Education: Bachelor's (Preferred.)

Don't have formal instructional experience but want to get involved? Volunteer with ART247! A variety of volunteer positions are available for energetic individuals that help support art education in our community, and enrich your experience in the arts. Gain experience by assiting our Art Instructors in classes, help guide art students, and assist students in learning techniques taught by instructors.

We offer a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities to support the Art Center as a volunteer including helping with special projects and at special events, assisting with tours and classes, and assisting at our front desk and gift shop during special shows and events.
